The grand opening on February 16 brought the first wave of players from PlanetMinecraft and Reddit. In the server's first days, samboyd, vphlIo, [[Player:Sigward_f|Sigward_f]], and [[Player:tuodjw|tuodjw]] (also known as James) formed a base alliance on a remote landmass known as '''The Island''', far from spawn. vphlIo and tuodjw enforced building standards through a running joke called the '''"HOA"''' (Homeowner's Association), inspecting builds and leaving notes about violations.
