=== Creation (February 17) ===
On the evening of February 17, [[Player:Kitten9337|Kitten9337]] — then a server operator — teleported to the world border and asked [[Player:samboyd|samboyd]] via private message:

Kitten placed a command block and used it to spawn the Blade of Steel. Three versions were created in quick succession — the first with the gradient name, then two more iterations. Kitten manually applied Sharpness V via <code>/enchant</code> (the command block likely handled the above-max enchantments).

samboyd teleported to inspect the weapon and tested it in creative mode, noting:

Kitten explained the design philosophy — ''"1 less damage"'' than a diamond sword but massive knockback. samboyd floated the idea of community votes to ''"rebalance the enchanting system."''

=== The /tp @a Incident (February 17) ===
Later that same evening, Kitten accidentally typed <code>/tp @a 0 ~ 0</code> instead of <code>/tp @s</code>, teleporting every online player to coordinates 0,0 — killing several in the process. samboyd immediately ran <code>/deop Kitten9337</code>, stripping admin privileges. Kitten later joked in chat:

Despite losing operator status, Kitten retained the Blade of Steel in their inventory.

=== The Murder of EEgan (February 18) ===
The next day, Kitten teamed up with '''razrxcz''', a player they had been coordinating with. When a new player named [[Player:EEgan|EEgan]] spawned nearby, razrxcz privately messaged Kitten:

Kitten responded: ''"ys"'' and ''"u kill."'' Kitten equipped razrxcz with full diamond armor (razrxcz earned the "Suit Up" and "Cover Me with Diamonds" advancements instantly) and handed over the Blade of Steel.

EEgan, who had been chatting casually with the pair, was killed 17 seconds later:

EEgan was deathbanned from the server. The entire encounter — from EEgan's arrival to their death — lasted under four minutes.

=== After the Kill ===
razrxcz experienced severe connection issues after the killing, disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly with "Cannot interact with self!" errors. They never logged into the server again after February 18.

=== Current Location ===
The Blade of Steel is now stored in [[Player:vphlIo|vphlIo]]'s ender chest, inside a shulker box alongside a bundle containing 25 player heads — vphlIo's trophy collection. How vphlIo acquired the sword from razrxcz or Kitten is not recorded in server logs.

The sword has sustained only 2 durability damage out of 250, and its ToolStats plugin data records 14.12 total damage dealt and 1 critical strike — consistent with a single PvP kill.
