__NOTOC__ The Strongmush Betrayal was the defining conflict of Xandaris's first two weeks β a chain of events spanning February 23β26, 2026 that began with the execution of Sigward_f, led to the exile of server founder samboyd, and culminated in a failed assassination attempt at a forward operating base known as Strongmush Island. samboyd survived only through combat logging, a stasis pearl, and an outside ally. The events permanently fractured the server's original alliance and established vphlIo as both the server's most powerful faction leader and its most dangerous player. == Background: The Island == In the server's first days, samboyd, vphlIo, Sigward_f, and tuodjw (also known as James) formed a base alliance on a remote landmass known as The Island, far from spawn. vphlIo and tuodjw enforced building standards through a running joke called the "HOA" (Homeowner's Association), inspecting builds and leaving notes about violations. The group operated as a loose faction β samboyd provided admin assistance and resources, vphlIo supplied netherite and combat gear, and Sigward_f contributed labor and companionship. Tensions simmered beneath the surface. vphlIo constructed an ender pearl stasis chamber and privately discussed hunting other players with Sigward_f. == The Murder of Sigward_f == February 23, 2026 β 00:15 UTC On the night of February 23, samboyd, vphlIo, and Sigward_f were gathered on The Island, examining a collection of player heads. Sigward_f asked for one:
"i just want some head"
"you have 3 i can have 1" β Sigward_f
vphlIo responded with a countdown:
"4"
"3"
"2"
"1"
And killed Sigward_f with a Netherite Sword. His head dropped. When Al3xx58 asked why, vphlIo's answer was simple: "robbed me... two times." samboyd pushed back: "he took a head but i mean... that was overkill." === The Confrontation === What followed was one of the longest moral arguments in server history. vphlIo justified the kill as a matter of reputation:
"If I like something I care about be taken so easyly who would take me serious I couldnt let him ruin my rep and imange" β vphlIo
samboyd's response was measured but final:
"i dont think im safe on that island"

"its just if i live in close proximity to you then a disagreement will cost me my life"

"and you killed my friend" β samboyd
vphlIo offered reassurance β "You are [safe]... dont grief or rob and you will be safe" β but samboyd wasn't convinced. He flew away within seconds and never returned to The Island. Later, as guilt crept in:
"sigwards always been a good basemate i would give him the benefit of the doubt before killing him"

"he was borderline innocent"

"his swedish blood is on my hands" β samboyd
Sigward_f responded from Discord: "its not on you sam... just vhp who gets hurt easily... like a child." vphlIo offered to revive Sigward. samboyd declined: "no." == samboyd's Exile == samboyd relocated to a distant base hundreds of thousands of blocks from The Island. He went into hiding, telling new players: "if you wanna see why i moved out you can look read about sigward's death." Despite the split, samboyd and vphlIo maintained an uneasy diplomatic channel. The two discussed who had trapped vphlIo's login area (suspicion fell on Kitten9337). Both confirmed they had moved:
"i havent been back to the island yet" β samboyd

"I moved so its fine" β vphlIo
The peace was fragile. vphlIo privately told WEIDO344 about "disagreements" and confided to Orangebubly: "I think someone on sams team is trying to kill me." == Strongmush Island == While in exile, samboyd established a forward operating base on a mushroom island situated above a stronghold, relatively close to spawn. He named it Strongmush Island. The plan was to build spawn infrastructure β grinders, farms, and starter gear β to help the server's growing population of new players, most of whom were dying within minutes of joining. samboyd shared the coordinates with vphlIo as a gesture of continued cooperation. vphlIo expressed interest in visiting. They discussed building spawn infrastructure together. == The Attack == February 26, 2026 β 02:02 UTC vphlIo logged in and traveled to Strongmush Island. samboyd was underground, working on a grinder near the stronghold. When vphlIo arrived, he noticed samboyd was wearing armor:
"chestplate really?" β vphlIo

"just in case i get pranked" β samboyd

"I see how it is" β vphlIo
vphlIo attacked with a sword. samboyd, caught in the middle of building, was nearly killed. He combat-logged β disconnecting from the server to save his life. From Discord, samboyd asked the only question that mattered: "u gonna kill me" vphlIo responded with an evil grin GIF. vphlIo then camped samboyd's logout position for over twenty minutes, logging in and out at the exact coordinates where samboyd had disconnected. samboyd briefly logged back in β lasted four seconds β and disconnected again. == "Order 66" == Unable to take samboyd alone in a fair fight β samboyd being the most geared and experienced combatant on the server β vphlIo called for reinforcements.
"james order 66" β vphlIo
tuodjw (James) logged in immediately. The Star Wars reference was clear: execute on sight. With two players covering samboyd's logout position, any attempt to log back in would be a death sentence. == The Failed Rescue: mubs420 == samboyd's first rescue attempt failed. An account called mubs420 β connected through localhost, and sharing samboyd's Discord name (.mubs) β joined the server. The plan was to reach samboyd's position and assist. mubs420 spawned randomly near the coast and was killed by a Drowned within ten minutes. Permanently deathbanned. vphlIo's response was immediate and unprompted: "I had nothing to do with that." == The Stasis Pearl Escape == With mubs420 dead and two hostile players camping his logout position, samboyd activated his contingency plan: a stasis pearl. A stasis pearl is an ender pearl thrown into a loaded chunk that teleports the thrower when the chunk is activated, effectively pulling them across any distance instantly. samboyd had pre-positioned one at a safe base far from Strongmush Island. Using an alt account to load the chunk containing the pearl, samboyd gave the signal from Discord:
"pull it" β samboyd
samboyd logged into Strongmush Island one final time. The stasis pearl activated. He was teleported to an undisclosed location, far from vphlIo and tuodjw's trap. The most powerful player on the server had escaped β not through combat, but through preparation and the foresight to have an emergency exit ready. == Aftermath == The Strongmush Betrayal confirmed what Sigward_f's murder had suggested: the original Island alliance was dead, and vphlIo would use lethal force against anyone β including the server's founder β to maintain dominance. samboyd remained alive, in hiding, and in control of the server's admin tools. vphlIo remained the dominant military force, with tuodjw as his enforcer. The two factions settled into a cold war, communicating through Discord and private messages while avoiding direct contact. vphlIo's philosophy, stated during the argument over Sigward's body, proved prophetic:
"Justice is the hands of the powerful... sometimes people can find that unfair"

"There is no evil just grey" β vphlIo
== Timeline == {| class="wikitable" style="width:100%;" |- !
