The Island is the primary base of the Xandaris server community. It was established on February 17, 2026 after the original base near spawn was abandoned due to PvP threats.

Overview

The Island is an archipelago of several small islands that serves as the main community hub. samboyd chose the location for its extreme distance from spawn, making it virtually impossible to find without coordinates or teleportation.

History

After PluckedHorseHair killed samboyd and several of his allies at the original base near spawn, the surviving players decided to relocate. samboyd chose this remote island chain and began teleporting trusted players to the new location.

The Island quickly grew into a proper settlement with multiple player-built structures, farms, and communal resources. samboyd jokingly referred to it as "Epstein's Island" at various points.

Mushroom Theme

The Island's defining architectural feature is its mushroom theme, a source of both pride and debate among residents. samboyd established the theme early on:

Layout

The Island consists of multiple islands:

• Main Island — The primary settlement with samboyd's mushroom-themed builds, communal farms, and player houses. Pale oak trees were planted because "the wood would look good with mushroom stem."
• vphlIo's Island — A nearby island with vphlIo and icyrobotjames's builds, including a large mushroom structure. vphlIo asked: "what do you think of my mushroom?"
• Surrounding Islands — Smaller landmasses used for farms and expansion.

Residents

• samboyd — Founder and primary builder. Left The Island after the Strongmush Betrayal and relocated to a distant base.
• Sigward_f — Prolific builder. † Murdered by vphlIo on Feb 23 over stolen player heads.
• vphlIo — Runs the secondary island with icyrobotjames. Controlled the island's best gear and enforced order through lethal force.
• lionclad — Base member who uses it as a safe haven and central base.
• tuodjw — Base member, vphlIo's enforcer, and mushroom-theme critic.
• GigglyBall — Had a house on the island (as "Ansley"). † Dead.
• Meat_Mattress — GigglyBall's alt account, bases here. Server operator.
• Kitten9337 — Briefly visited before being banned. Obtained the coordinates via replay recordings.
• Orangebubly — Allied visitor from vphlIo's group.
• PurpleBumblebeez — Server operator, commented on island architecture.

PvP Incidents

The Island has been the site of several major PvP events:

• The Murder of Sigward_f (Feb 23) — vphlIo counted down from four and executed Sigward_f with a Netherite Sword over stolen player heads. The most controversial killing in server history.
• Death of Dirt1358 (Feb 23) — tuodjw killed Dirt1358 within an hour of Sigward_f's murder, after Dirt1358 trash-talked vphlIo from Discord.

Known Issues

• Podzol spreading across the island — samboyd has repeatedly expressed concern about this
• Limited villager trading options early on
• No enderman XP farm — Orangebubly asked about one

The Fracture

The Island's community was permanently fractured by the events of February 23–26. After vphlIo murdered Sigward_f and tuodjw killed Dirt1358, samboyd declared the island unsafe and relocated hundreds of thousands of blocks away. The original alliance between samboyd, vphlIo, Sigward_f, and tuodjw dissolved, leading to the Strongmush Betrayal on February 26 when vphlIo attempted to kill samboyd at a secondary base.

The Island remains active but is no longer the unified community hub it once was.
