'''World Spawn''' is the default spawn area of the Xandaris server, located near coordinates '''0, 0''' in a snowy biome. It is the first location most players encounter, though the server uses a random spawn plugin that scatters new players in a radius around it.

World Spawn is the center of the map and the area where players are scattered when they first join. The RandomSPAWNZ plugin teleports new players to random locations within a configurable radius of spawn, meaning few players actually begin at 0,0 itself.

== Spawn Issues ==
World Spawn is not the typical starting point for new players — RandomSpawnZ distributes newcomers across random locations thousands of blocks apart. However, the world spawn coordinates remain important as the default fallback position. Players who experience data corruption, botched teleports, or server restarts often find themselves at or near 0, 0 regardless of where they logged out.

The random spawn system was a persistent source of problems on the server:
The area near world spawn is dangerous. Hostile mobs patrol the surface at night, Drowned lurk in the nearby coastal waters, and there are no permanent player structures or defenses. Multiple players have died within seconds of arriving here.

World Spawn is the fixed spawn point of the Xandaris server, located at approximately 0, 64, 0 in the overworld. While most new players spawn at random locations via the RandomSpawnZ plugin, the world spawn serves as a fallback point for players with corrupted data, failed teleports, or default respawns.

Overview[edit]

World Spawn is not the typical starting point for new players — RandomSpawnZ distributes newcomers across random locations thousands of blocks apart. However, the world spawn coordinates remain important as the default fallback position. Players who experience data corruption, botched teleports, or server restarts often find themselves at or near 0, 0 regardless of where they logged out.

The area near world spawn is dangerous. Hostile mobs patrol the surface at night, Drowned lurk in the nearby coastal waters, and there are no permanent player structures or defenses. Multiple players have died within seconds of arriving here.

Notable Deaths[edit]

Several significant deaths have occurred at or near world spawn:

  • skogsloparenSuffocated in a wall after 7 seconds. Unbanned and teleported to world spawn, he spawned inside a block due to a known glitch and died instantly.
  • GAP11Slain by a Zombie after 33 seconds. Logged in at world spawn and was immediately attacked. This was the fastest non-glitch death in server history. He was pardoned, then died again the next day.
  • LeoTheo5 — Spawned near the world origin and was pushed off a high place by a Zombie after 53 seconds. Immediately switched to an alt (Blostove), who also died within 6 minutes.
  • CoboElFuerte — Respawned at world spawn after data corruption. Was rescued by Meat_Mattress and samboyd, who fed him and teleported him to safety.

Spawn Glitches[edit]

A recurring issue at world spawn involved players suffocating inside blocks when teleported to the area. The glitch was caused by unsafe spawn positioning — the server placed players at the correct X/Z coordinates but inside solid blocks at the Y level.

This affected multiple players during the server's first days, most notably Sigward_f, who suffocated in walls five consecutive times during a pardon-and-teleport cycle on February 16. Each death triggered an automatic deathban, followed by another pardon, another teleport, and another suffocation. The bug was eventually resolved by teleporting players to verified safe coordinates instead of raw spawn.

Proximity to Other Locations[edit]

  • Location:samboyd's Base Ruins — The server's first player-built structure, located along a river near the world origin. Abandoned within 24 hours of construction.
  • Location:The Island — The main community base, located extremely far from spawn. Coordinates are classified.

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite RandomSpawnZ giving each new player a unique spawn location, the world spawn at ~0, 0 remains the most dangerous single point on the server due to mob density and lack of player infrastructure.
  • samboyd considered building a "spawn town" near the world origin on Day One but abandoned the idea after PvP threats from PluckedHorseHair.
  • The spawn area is near a coast, making Drowned a persistent threat for any player who ends up there.
  • Multiple rescue operations have been staged at world spawn, with admins teleporting in to feed, equip, and extract stranded players.
