The Island is the primary base of the Xandaris server community, located approximately 490,000 blocks from spawn at coordinates -429,984, 68, 245,250. It was established on February 17, 2026 after the original base near spawn was abandoned due to PvP threats.

The Island is an archipelago of several small islands that serves as the main community hub. samboyd chose the location for its extreme distance from spawn — nearly half a million blocks away — making it virtually impossible to find without coordinates or teleportation.

History

After PluckedHorseHair killed samboyd and several of his allies at the original base near spawn, the surviving players decided to relocate. samboyd chose this remote island chain and began teleporting trusted players to the new location.

The Island quickly grew into a proper settlement with multiple player-built structures, farms, and communal resources. samboyd jokingly referred to it as "Epstein's Island" at various points.

Mushroom Theme

The Island's defining architectural feature is its mushroom theme, a source of both pride and debate among residents. samboyd established the theme early on:

He gave 200 Red Mushroom Blocks and 200 Brown Mushroom Blocks to himself via commands to build with. The theme uses mushroom stem blocks, pale oak wood, and mushroom block variants for construction.

The mushroom aesthetic became a point of contention:

Sigward_f eventually compromised: "i can make a big mushroom just not a mushroom house."

Layout

The Island consists of multiple islands:

• Main Island — The primary settlement with samboyd's mushroom-themed builds, communal farms, and player houses. Pale oak trees were planted because "the wood would look good with mushroom stem."
• vphlIo's Island — A nearby island with vphlIo and icyrobotjames's builds, including a large mushroom structure. vphlIo asked: "what do you think of my mushroom?"
• Surrounding Islands — Smaller landmasses used for farms and expansion.

Residents

• samboyd — Founder and primary builder. vphlIo described his house as "the best."
• Sigward_f — Prolific builder. Left HOA violation notes on samboyd's builds. Built 5+ structures on the island.
• vphlIo — Runs the secondary island with icyrobotjames. Has the most logins of any player (181).
• tuodjw — Base member and mushroom-theme critic.
• GigglyBall — Has a house on the island (as "Ansley").
• Meat_Mattress — GigglyBall's alt, bases here.
• Kitten9337 — Briefly visited before being banned. Obtained the coordinates via replay recordings.
• Orangebubly — Allied visitor from vphlIo's group.

Infrastructure

• Sheep farm (the sheep ate all their grass)
• Villager breeder (started as 4 villagers underground, later expanded)
• Mushroom-themed builds using pale oak and mushroom stem

PvP Incidents

The Island has been the site of several major PvP events:

• Sigward_f killed samboyd here twice (coordinates -429,906 / 71 / 245,114 and -429,957 / 79 / 245,122)
• tuodjw killed samboyd here once (-429,957 / 79 / 245,122)
• These killings were among the most significant betrayals in server history

Known Issues

• Podzol spreading across the island — samboyd has repeatedly expressed concern about this
• Limited villager trading options early on
• No enderman XP farm — Orangebubly asked about one
