A chronicle of the Xandaris Hardcore SMP from its founding.

Day Zero — Setup (February 15, 2026)

The Xandaris server was brought online on the evening of February 15, 2026. samboyd spent the first hours alone — configuring plugins, testing chat formatting, and cycling through multiple restarts and world regenerations. His first chat message was ".help", typed into an empty server to see if commands worked. His second was "uiofhadiofds."

Once RandomSpawnZ was configured, samboyd received his first true random spawn. He survived exactly 67 seconds before being slain by a Zombie — the very first death on the server.

After respawning, he built a small base along a river near the world origin, describing it as "it aint much but its home." A handful of early players — including vphlIo and Sigward_f — joined during this testing phase, though most of their activity predates the surviving log files.

Day One — Grand Opening (February 16, 2026)

The Launch

samboyd and Asa_Akiraa — real-life friends — posted the server on PlanetMinecraft, minecraft-server-list.com, and Reddit. The first wave of players arrived within the hour.

samboyd welcomed every arrival, explaining the rules and making the server's founding promise:

"no p2w and no map resets — forever"

"so you are all my first players, so thank u all my GOATs"

The server crashed multiple times under the load. samboyd apologized, upgraded the hardware, and kept going. A RandomSpawnZ bug caused several players to suffocate inside blocks on login — samboyd pardoned them and fixed the configuration. By the end of the day, he estimated that 75% of players had already died.

vphlIo's Speedrun

While samboyd managed the chaos at spawn, vphlIo embarked on one of the most impressive speedruns in server history. In a single two-hour session, he:

Entered the Nether and looted a Bastion Remnant
Explored a Trial Chamber
Found a Stronghold and entered The End
Killed the Ender Dragon (with icyrobotjames landing the final blow) — the first player to do so, collecting the dragon egg
Found an End City and obtained an Elytra
Crafted full Netherite armor

When asked how: "I got it day one to be fair." When asked to share the dragon egg: "And no yall cant have the dragon egg."

The Admin Team Forms

lionclad_ joined the server and was promoted to Level 4 operator within 35 minutes — the fastest admin promotion in server history. He immediately switched to spectator mode and began teleporting between players, establishing himself as the server's anti-cheat enforcer. His first major action was confronting PluckedHorseHair about a potential alt account (PluckedHorseHair was cleared but remained under suspicion).

lionclad_ identified and banned AwesomeAG99 for using the Meteor hack client — the server's first ban for cheating.

The DeadEnderChest Plugin

samboyd deployed his custom DeadEnderChest plugin, which allows players to access a dead player's ender chest by holding their dropped head. Sigward_f killed samboyd to test it. It worked. This plugin would become one of the server's defining mechanics — and a source of considerable drama.

PluckedHorseHair Arrives

PluckedHorseHair joined and was immediately flagged by AltDetector on every login (attributed to VPN usage). He progressed at a suspicious pace — finding a Nether Fortress, entering the End, obtaining an Elytra, and accumulating 17 Notch Apples within hours. He began running /plugins obsessively, checking the version of every plugin on the server — behavior that would continue throughout his time on Xandaris.

Sigward_f's Rough Start

Sigward_f had perhaps the worst Day One of any player. After being shot by a Stray (his first real death), he entered a nightmarish cycle: unbanned by RCON, teleported to an unsafe location, suffocated in a wall, auto-banned, repeat. He died eight times in a single day — though only two were genuine gameplay deaths. He was later slain by barryjeans in PvP, adding insult to injury.

Day Two — Alliances & Betrayal (February 17, 2026)

The Spawn Base Falls

PluckedHorseHair killed samboyd in PvP — the culmination of tensions that had been building since a previous server called LHC. PluckedHorseHair admitted to three player kills total; Asa_Akiraa claimed the number was closer to eight.

"horsehair literally killed me and my entire team" — samboyd

This kill accelerated the community's decision to abandon the base near spawn and relocate far away. samboyd chose a remote island and began teleporting trusted players to the new location: The Island.

vphlIo's Reign of Terror

While samboyd dealt with the political fallout, vphlIo went on a killing spree. He slew REPLTOR, then turned on his own teammates — smashing icyrobotjames and slaying tuodjw. After killing icyrobotjames, he immediately looted their ender chest. His justification for the teammate kills:

"Oh btw you need a player head to join our cult"

He also killed embiie (yielding four heads) and later claimed berry. Despite the body count, samboyd endorsed him: "also vphl is cool hes safe to team with."

The Double Agents

Kitten9337 played both sides — publicly allied with samboyd's group while secretly teaming with PluckedHorseHair via private messages. Kitten traded enchanted gear with PluckedHorseHair and shared coordinates, while simultaneously reporting PluckedHorseHair's suspicious inventory (17 Notch Apples, Netherite armor) to samboyd.

PluckedHorseHair and Kitten plotted to kill vphlIo:

"we have to kill vph. he tried to kill me earlier, for no reason... he has full enchant netherite armor tho. we dont have enough stuff to kill him"

Meanwhile, vphlIo was running his own counter-operation.

lionclad_'s Second Ban

lionclad_ identified and banned Cuban_III for using a hack client — his second major enforcement action. samboyd confirmed via private message: "he's hacking". lionclad_ replied simply: "ik".

The Revive Debate

samboyd announced he was building a revive mechanic plugin — a ritual using a dead player's head and Netherite to bring them back. The idea sparked philosophical debate:

"im still not sold on keeping the revive ritual in the game... its kinda unfair to the 80 ppl who are already banned"

The plugin was never completed. vphlIo suggested a simpler alternative: "just do a live system where you get 2-3 lives".

Other Events

XiDipole was kicked for using a hacked client.
The SimpleVoiceChat proximity voice chat plugin was installed.
The world border was set to 1,000,000 blocks (500k in each direction).
samboyd set the sleep percentage to 50%.
Asa_Akiraa was promoted to operator — joining samboyd and lionclad_ on the admin team.
Asa died twice (fell from a high place, then slain by Zombie) but was exempt from deathban as an operator.
Sigward_f impersonation incident: samboyd ran /nick Sigward_j to impersonate Sigward. Sigward: "fake sigward wtf". PluckedHorseHair: "no im the real sigward".

Day Three — Growing Pains (February 18, 2026)

The Hunt for PluckedHorseHair

vphlIo organized an elaborate operation to take down PluckedHorseHair. He recruited Orangebubly as bait — Orangebubly offered PluckedHorseHair Elytras and lured him to a meeting point in the Nether. PluckedHorseHair was cautious ("why do u want to gift me so bad? sus") but agreed to meet.

vphlIo built a triple-layer obsidian trap around PluckedHorseHair's logout position. When PluckedHorseHair logged back in, he teleported 1,000 blocks away — confirming the hacking suspicions. vphlIo reported to samboyd:

"I just watched plucks straight up hack btw"

PluckedHorseHair combat-logged twice and escaped. The Grim anticheat later flagged him for NoSlow x30 — a hack client signature.

The End Crystal Incident

vphlIo "jokingly" placed an End Crystal at The Island. Another player clicked it and died. vphlIo's defense:

"i JOKENLY PLACED A END CRYTAL AND HE CLICKED IT"

"KILLED HIMSELF"

He eventually negotiated: "so how many netherite blocks to bring bro back? make it 8".

lionclad_'s Demotion

lionclad_ had developed a habit of switching into creative mode while on admin duty. After repeated warnings, samboyd de-opped him and forced him into survival mode. The demotion lasted approximately 90 seconds before samboyd relented, with an explicit instruction:

"pls only use spec to look for cheaters, pls dont use creative" — samboyd

Anticheat Drama

The GrimAC anticheat flagged ChickenFiesta for fastbreak violations tied to their modded client. samboyd spent hours investigating, eventually acknowledging the false positive problem:

"i might have to disable it, some people have been having issues"

The #deaths Channel Saga

samboyd began a two-evening marathon to get death messages working in Discord's #deaths channel. The CustomDeathMessages plugin refused to cooperate — displaying "ENTITY_NAME" instead of player names and failing to load cause-specific messages.

samboyd died over a dozen times testing — via RCON commands, intentional falls, drowning, and asking Sigward_f to kill him with a Diamond Axe. At one point the server bot killed him via RCON:

"fucking claude killed me"

PluckedHorseHair Dies

At 23:45 UTC, PluckedHorseHair logged in at Y:180 in the Nether and died within one second — before even fully loading in. The death message was generic ("has died"), likely from fall damage at an unsafe login position.

The community's reaction was swift and merciless:

Sigward_f: "fuck horsehair"
samboyd: "horsehair was evil bro"

vphlIo looted PluckedHorseHair's ender chest and announced plans to burn his head.

Day Four — A Server Takes Shape (February 19, 2026)

#deaths Goes Live

After two nights of debugging, the #deaths Discord channel finally worked. samboyd announced:

"ok.... its finally working. #deaths is live"

"embarassing how long that took me"

Island Life

With the major plugin work behind him and the server's primary villain dead, life at The Island settled into something resembling normalcy.

samboyd began actually playing the game for the first time — enchanting gear, trading with villagers for mending books, and planning his next build: "a giant mushroom, like a psilocybe." Sigward_f left him an HOA violation note. samboyd was not amused.

vphlIo took on infrastructure — building a sheep farm, a villager hall, and mining andesite. He taught other players the villager trading exploit and admitted to looting every dead player on the server: "btw I robbed all the dead people".

Sigward_f settled into his mushroom-themed house and predicted his own demise: "i will die in max 4 days". He and samboyd passed the time betting on how long new players would survive.

Asa_Akiraa logged in for the last time at 04:19 UTC — her belongings were later looted by Kitten9337, who proudly announced: "i robbed asa first".

The Looting

With several players dead or gone, the living descended on their remains. vphlIo "robbed all the dead people." Kitten9337 claimed Asa_Akiraa's ender chest. Sigward_f collected player heads and declared ownership of Asa's: "its my now". samboyd discussed the coordinates of lionclad_'s dropped head with vphlIo. In hardcore Minecraft, the dead have no property rights.

Day Four — Ranks, Restarts & Silmarillion (February 19)

Day Four was dominated by server infrastructure work. Silmarillion_1 joined the server and, after dying three times (to a witch, a skeleton, and a fall at spawn), was made an operator and set up the entire LuckPerms rank hierarchy:

Multiple server restarts occurred throughout the day as configuration changes were applied. Players were repeatedly kicked with "Server closed" messages. CoboElFuerte experienced player data corruption after drowning — spawning at his death coordinates and dying again — requiring admin intervention.

February 20 was the most eventful day since the server's launch, featuring a high-profile PvP kill and new player arrivals.

The Sigward_f Spawn Kill

At 00:33, vphlIo and Sigward_f logged in within 4 seconds of each other near the world origin. vphlIo killed Sigward_f 37 seconds later — a pure spawn kill with no chat exchanged. The DeathBan plugin failed to trigger due to file permission errors (AccessDeniedException), so Sigward reconnected 6 seconds later.

This was vphlIo's seventh confirmed player kill, and the two engaged in extended hostile trash-talk afterward.

Day Five — Offensive Usernames & LxCxsty (February 21)

Between 08:11 and 08:20, a wave of players with offensive usernames joined the server: L0wkeyRacist, IHateN16G3RAS, LGBQTSucks, BannedUsername, and StupidChimps. IHateN16G3RAS was the only one to die — shot by a Stray one minute after joining. The accounts appeared coordinated but no bans were issued.

HalcyonCW was pushed off a high place by an Iron Golem — earning the rare [Surge Protector] advancement at the exact moment of death.

The day's most memorable story belonged to LxCxsty, who joined at 19:17 and immediately asked: "if i die im basically saying goodbye to this server forever?" The answer was yes. LxCxsty played for several hours before falling into lava at Y:-57 while deep mining — ending their run at 22:49.

TeejayR141 earned the server's most unusual death message: "did not put their snow suit on before they went to play" — freezing to death in a snowy biome.

Day Six (February 22)

The server continued to attract new players. samboyd earned the [Postmortal] advancement (used a Totem of Undying), and tuodjw achieved [Over-Overkill] — dealing 50 hearts of damage in a single hit.

Six more players died on this day, most to Zombies and Skeletons. The server's survival rate remained around 10%.

Day Seven — The Bloodiest Day (February 23, 2026)

February 23 was the deadliest single day in server history, with 17 player deaths in under 24 hours — including 3 PvP murders. The day began and ended with vphlIo kills.

The Murder of Sigward_f (12:15 AM)

Main article: Event:The Murder of Sigward_f

At 00:15 UTC, vphlIo executed Sigward_f with his Netherite Sword at The Island. The motive: Sigward had stolen player heads from vphlIo's Trophy Sack. vphlIo counted down from four in chat — "4... 3... 2... 1..." — then struck. The server erupted: "oh nah," "rip bozo," "noooo."

vphlIo defended the killing: "If I like something I care about be taken so easily who would take me serious." He then looted Sigward_f's ender chest, extracting the stolen heads and more.

Sigward_f — a 50-hour veteran with the server records for jumps (64,814) and beds slept in (181) — was permanently banned. He continued chatting from Discord via DiscordSRV.

The Dirt1358 Killing (1:14 AM)

Within the hour, tuodjw killed Dirt1358 with a Netherite Sword — the second PvP death of the night. Dirt1358 had only 1.4 hours of playtime and zero mob kills.

The Skeleton Reign

Five players fell to Skeleton arrows throughout the day: TugMachain2, ThatoneMikey, Biobonsai, COOLESTSTUFF, and PaperWater1. Four of the five were first-session players with less than five minutes of playtime — spawning into the world only to be immediately sniped.

_Xcis_ Falls (12:43 PM)

_Xcis_ was the day's most experienced casualty after Sigward_f, with 9.2 hours and 240 mob kills. A fall from a high place ended it all.

The Killing of OneStarNoTip (11:53 PM)

The day's final death was its most calculated. vphlIo lured OneStarNoTip to his death by offering free gear. samboyd vouched for vphlIo's safety when asked directly — "no." vphlIo then insisted OneStarNoTip come meet him in person. OneStarNoTip agreed. vphlIo killed him underground.

The public excuse: "oops." The real motive, revealed in private messages: OneStarNoTip had discovered the server's AI chatbots and communicated this to vphlIo. vphlIo's justification: "speak no evil hear no evil see no evil."

samboyd, who had vouched for vphlIo minutes earlier: "never vouching for this man again."

Other Notable Deaths

NoPerk_ saw it coming: "the creepers gonna kill me... help" — then the Creeper detonated.
LemonClaus was told to log out to survive. Seven seconds later, a Spider killed them.
BOB1414 killed 7 mobs in under five minutes before being taken out by a Witch.

Day Eight — Death by Loneliness (February 24, 2026)

February 24 saw 8 deaths and zero murders — the first PvP-free day since the bloodiest week began. Zombies and Endermen were the dominant killers. The day produced a new fastest-death record and the server's first intentional suicide.

GAP11 — 33 Seconds (3:12 PM)

GAP11 logged in. vphlIo said "Welcome back." Thirty-three seconds later, GAP11 was dead — slain by a Zombie that was waiting at their login location. This broke Dirt1358's record of 52 seconds for the fastest death on the server. GAP11 tried to rejoin five times. samboyd pardoned him five hours later.

lionclad_'s Void Drop (11:13 AM)

lionclad_, now a server admin, was helping a new player named rosalie_probally settle into a base when a teleport went wrong. He fell from a high place and landed at Y:-1 — below bedrock — dying instantly. As an admin, he self-revived within seconds. Alysa captured the death on video.

Eleihar — Five Minutes (11:57 AM)

Eleihar joined and asked "is this real hc?" vphlIo confirmed. Five minutes later, a Zombie wielding an Iron Sword killed them. vphlIo: "Well it dont matter now."

BulletBrill_1 — The Suicide (8:29 PM)

The day's final death was its most tragic — and the server's first intentional suicide.

BulletBrill_1 had joined the previous evening desperate for company: "can i team with someone... im not safe by myself." samboyd gave him diamond gear but left. vphlIo was asked for help but ran off. Nobody stayed.

He returned the next night with a plan: "im bouta jump off a cliff." He gave away his coordinates and his God Apple. samboyd begged him to stay — "dont do it man you have so much to live for." vphlIo, initially taunting from Discord ("Now die so no one has to hear you yapp anymore"), logged in and offered a duel: "fight me to the death." BulletBrill declined.

When vphlIo asked why, BulletBrill explained:

"this server is boring... no one wants to team with me or meet up and i want a server where i can be around ppl in a base"

At 8:29 PM, BulletBrill typed "goodbye." samboyd offered "if you base at spawn someone will join you" and vphlIo called out "Bullet wait" — but an Enderman killed him before he could reply. His last word was "wahat."

samboyd: "not even a cliff... damn server so dead noobs are killing themselves... maybe i should bring the clankers back."

Other Deaths

_Thorrr — explored the Nether alone after midnight; slain by Enderman after an hour.
LordBuffeltje and Renje07 — two new players died within 3 minutes of each other in the morning. samboyd had told Renje "glad you're still alive" an hour earlier.
Graygamer64 — earned [Monster Hunter] by killing a mob, then was shot by a Skeleton one second later.
