Strongmush Island was a forward operating base established by samboyd on a mushroom island situated above a stronghold, relatively close to spawn. Built during samboyd's exile from Location:The Island, it was intended as a spawn infrastructure hub for new players. The base became the site of Event:The Strongmush Betrayal on February 26, 2026, when vphlIo launched a surprise attack that nearly killed samboyd.

Overview[edit]

After the murder of Sigward_f fractured the original Island alliance, samboyd relocated hundreds of thousands of blocks away from Location:The Island. While in exile, he discovered a mushroom island positioned directly above a stronghold — a rare geographic coincidence he named "Strongmush Island."

The location was ideal for spawn infrastructure: close enough to spawn that new players could reach it, with a stronghold for End access and the mushroom biome's natural hostility suppression for safe building.

Founding[edit]

samboyd established Strongmush Island around February 25, 2026, with plans to build grinders, farms, and starter gear to support the server's growing population of new players — most of whom were dying within minutes of joining. Despite the split with vphlIo, samboyd shared the coordinates as a gesture of continued cooperation. The two discussed building spawn infrastructure together.

The Attack[edit]

vphlIo traveled to Strongmush Island while samboyd was underground, working on a grinder near the stronghold. When vphlIo arrived, he noticed samboyd was wearing armor:

"just in case i get pranked"— samboyd

"I see how it is"— vphlIo

vphlIo attacked with a sword. samboyd, caught mid-build, was nearly killed and combat-logged — disconnecting from the server to save his life.

vphlIo then camped samboyd's logout position for over twenty minutes, logging in and out at the exact coordinates. samboyd briefly reconnected — lasting four seconds — before disconnecting again. vphlIo called for reinforcements:

"james order 66"— vphlIo

tuodjw logged in immediately. With two hostile players covering the logout position, any attempt to return would be a death sentence.

The Stasis Pearl Escape[edit]

samboyd activated his contingency plan: a stasis pearl he had pre-positioned at a safe base far from Strongmush Island. Using an alt account to load the chunk containing the pearl, samboyd signaled from Discord:

"pull it"— samboyd

He logged into Strongmush Island one final time. The stasis pearl activated, teleporting him to an undisclosed location far from the trap.

Current Status[edit]

Strongmush Island was abandoned after the betrayal. The grinder and infrastructure samboyd had been building were left unfinished. Neither samboyd nor vphlIo has returned to the location.
