WEIDO344's Mushroom Island was a mushroom island discovered by WEIDO344 on February 21, 2026, after extensive ocean exploration by boat. WEIDO344 used the island as a safe haven, surviving on mooshroom stew and fishing while avoiding the dangers that killed most new players within minutes. The island was never raided or breached — WEIDO344 died elsewhere on February 27, shot by a Skeleton at his logout position on the mainland.
Discovery[edit]
WEIDO344 spent much of his second and third days on the server exploring by boat, eventually covering over 24.2 km of ocean travel. He discovered the mushroom island and excitedly shared the coordinates in public chat, along with a practical question:
"can i milk the mooshrooms for mushroom soup?"— WEIDO344
The answer was yes. The mushroom biome's natural properties — no hostile mob spawning and an unlimited food source from mooshroom stew — made it an ideal location for WEIDO344's extremely cautious playstyle.
Life on the Island[edit]
WEIDO344 settled into a routine on the island built around safety and self-sufficiency:
- Mooshroom stew — He milked mooshrooms with bowls for an infinite, renewable food source that required no farming or combat.
- Fishing — With 49 fish caught across his time on the server, WEIDO344 was one of the few players to engage seriously with fishing. He pitched the lifestyle to WillieLayer_: "fishing is safe... you sit there and cast the fishing rod and wait until a bite then you reel it in."
- Button crafting — WEIDO344 crafted 61 oak buttons during his time on the server, a record that still stands. He placed 87 total, meaning he also relocated buttons found in the wild.
The island fit perfectly with WEIDO344's philosophy of cautious play. In six hours on a server where the average new player survived 13 minutes, he stayed in iron armor and deflected 2,490 damage with his shield. As he put it: "in hardcore bro ill be in iron armor for a wek."
Significance[edit]
WEIDO344's Mushroom Island represents the server's most successful example of defensive play. While other players built alliances, raided bases, and waged wars, WEIDO344 survived through avoidance and the mushroom biome's natural safety.
The island was never discovered or attacked by hostile players. WEIDO344's death on February 27 — shot by a Skeleton 74 seconds after logging in at his mainland logout position — came nowhere near the island. His safe haven remained safe; he simply wasn't on it when it mattered.
