Event:Obituaries February 24

February 24, 2026 saw 8 player deaths on Xandaris — a sharp drop from the previous day's record-setting 17, but no less brutal for the individuals involved. Zombies and Endermen were the dominant killers, and three newcomers died within minutes of their first login, with GAP11 setting a grim new record: just 33 seconds from login to permanent deathban. The day's final death — BulletBrill_1 — was the server's first intentional suicide, a player who logged on to die because nobody would team with him.

Still PvP-free — no murders, just the unforgiving world and one player who'd had enough of it.

Notable Deaths

_Thorrr's Nether Expedition (4:18 AM)

_Thorrr logged in after midnight and ventured into the Nether alone — no other players were online. After over an hour of solo exploration, an Enderman ended the run. samboyd posted "rip thorrr" from Discord hours later. _Thorrr had been active the previous evening, earning [Subspace Bubble] and marveling at "8 zombies on horses with spears in full gold." No pardon was issued.

The Morning Double (9:14 – 9:17 AM)

Two new players died within three minutes of each other. LordBuffeltje was blown up by a Creeper on the surface after a 34-minute session — they had earned six advancements across two sessions and were just beginning to establish themselves. Renje07, a chatty newcomer who had asked about server resets and suggested donation ranks, was overwhelmed by a horde of Zombies deep underground at Y:13 after 38 minutes.

samboyd had posted "glad you're still alive renje" from Discord an hour before the death — an optimism that aged poorly.

lionclad_'s Void Drop (11:13 AM)

lionclad_, a server admin, was helping rosalie_probally settle into a base when a teleport went wrong. They fell from a high place and landed at Y:-1 — below the bedrock layer — dying instantly. As an admin, lionclad_ self-revived within seconds using operator commands.

Alysa captured the moment on video, posting from Discord: "he just poofed!" samboyd's reaction: "f" followed by "lionclad_...."

Eleihar — Five Minutes Flat (11:57 AM)

Eleihar joined and immediately asked "is this real hc?" vphlIo confirmed: "yea." Within a minute, Eleihar was at half a heart from Skeleton fire: "holy fuck... im at half a heart... why do skeletons do 5 hearts." vphlIo offered help — "I got you" — and Eleihar earned [Stone Age] and [Monster Hunter], but it wasn't enough. A Zombie wielding an Iron Sword cut them down five minutes and fourteen seconds after joining.

vphlIo's immediate response: "Well it dont matter now."

GAP11 — 33 Seconds (3:12 PM)

GAP11 logged in. vphlIo said "Welcome back." Thirty-three seconds later, GAP11 was dead — slain by a Zombie that was waiting at their login location. GAP11 frantically tried to rejoin five times, each attempt blocked by the deathban screen.

vphlIo offered a one-word farewell: "Goodbye."

samboyd pardoned GAP11 approximately five hours later.

Graygamer64 — One Kill, Then Death (8:05 PM)

Graygamer64 spawned in, received welcomes from samboyd and vphlIo, and managed to earn [Monster Hunter] by killing a mob. One second later, a Skeleton shot them dead. Total survival time: under two minutes.

samboyd's reaction — "lol... f... i shouldve slept" — hinted that a night skip could have prevented the death entirely.

BulletBrill_1 — Death by Loneliness (8:29 PM)

The day's final death was its most tragic — and the server's first intentional suicide.

BulletBrill_1 had first joined the previous evening, immediately begging for company: "can someone help me get stuff," "can i team with someone," "im not safe by myself." samboyd came, gave him diamond gear, and left. vphlIo was asked for help but ran off. Nobody stayed.

He returned the next night at 8:14 PM with a plan:

"im bouta jump off a cliff"

"u want my god apple... i can leave it in a chest for u"

He gave away his coordinates and his gear. samboyd tried to talk him down — "dont do it man you have so much to live for" — while vphlIo, initially taunting from Discord ("Now die so no one has to hear you yapp anymore"), logged in and challenged him to a duel instead: "you could kill yourself or die like a man... fight me to the death." BulletBrill declined: "nah."

When vphlIo asked why, BulletBrill explained:

"this server is boring... no one wants to team with me or meet up and i want a server where i can be around ppl in a base"

At 8:29 PM, BulletBrill typed "goodbye." samboyd offered one last plea — "if you base at spawn someone will join you" — and vphlIo, his tone suddenly changed, called out "Bullet wait." BulletBrill replied "wahat" — and at that exact second, an Enderman killed him. He never even made it to his cliff.

samboyd's reactions: "not even a cliff" ... "damn server so dead noobs are killing themselves" ... "maybe i should bring the clankers back."

vphlIo: "Well shit... I tried."
