samboyd is the founder, owner, and server operator of Xandaris. He manages the server infrastructure, plugins, Discord integration, and community. samboyd spent most of the server's early history in creative and spectator: fixing bugs, installing plugins, and maintaining server stability.

History

Day Zero — Setup & The 67-Second Death (February 15)

samboyd was the first player to join the Xandaris server on February 15, 2026, during the initial setup phase. His earliest logins were brief testing sessions — configuring plugins, checking chat formatting, and typing test messages like ".help" and "uiofhadiofds" into the void.

Once RandomSpawnZ was configured and the world was regenerated, samboyd received his first true random spawn. He survived exactly 67 seconds before being slain by a Zombie — the server's very first death.

Undeterred, he established a small base along a river near spawn, describing it as "it aint much but its home."

Day One — Grand Opening (February 16)

February 16 was the day Xandaris went public. samboyd and Asa_Akiraa posted the server on PlanetMinecraft, minecraft-server-list.com, and Reddit, triggering the first wave of new players.

He established the server's core promise early: "no p2w and no map resets — forever."

The server crashed multiple times under load. samboyd apologized, upgraded the hardware, and kept going. He also deployed his custom DeadEnderChest plugin, which lets players access a dead player's ender chest by holding their dropped head and running a command. He had Sigward_f kill him to test it.

By the end of the day, he estimated that 75% of players had already died.

Day Two — The End, Netherite & Betrayal (February 17)

The pace picked up on Day Two. vphlIo defeated the Ender Dragon, and samboyd teleported to the End portal to earn the [The End?] advancement shortly after.

samboyd also completed the [Cover Me in Debris] challenge, acquiring a full set of netherite armor, and earned [Crafting a New Look] from armor trimming.

The day's biggest drama came from PluckedHorseHair. PluckedHorseHair killed samboyd in PvP when he briefly switched to survival mode — the third time a player had slain him. samboyd later reflected:

"horsehair literally killed me and my entire team"— samboyd

This incident accelerated the decision to relocate the community far from spawn to The Island.

samboyd also began building a revive mechanic plugin using player heads and netherite, though he remained conflicted about whether it was fair to the 80+ players already banned.

Day Three — Anticheat Drama & #deaths (February 18)

samboyd kicked XiDipole for using a hacked client and spent hours troubleshooting anticheat issues with chickenfiesta, whose modified client kept triggering fastbreak flags.

The community continued to bleed players. samboyd pardoned several who had died to a spawn bug (suffocating inside blocks due to a RandomSpawnZ misconfiguration) and repeatedly pleaded with survivors:

"pls dont die, ban on death"— samboyd

He spent the entire evening testing the CustomDeathMessages plugin and Discord integration for the #deaths channel, dying over a dozen times via RCON commands, fall damage, and asking friends to kill him. At one point:

"fucking claude killed me"— samboyd

— referring to the server bot executing a /kill command via RCON during testing.

Day Four — Island Life & Building (February 19)

After an embarrassing number of test deaths, the #deaths Discord channel finally went live. samboyd announced:

"ok.... its finally working. #deaths is live"— samboyd

With the major plugin work behind him, samboyd began actually playing the game — enchanting gear, looking for mending villagers, and planning builds at The Island. He announced his next project: "a giant mushroom — like a psilocybe."

He also received an HOA violation note from Sigward_f, which he did not appreciate.

Silmarillion_1 joined and set up the entire LuckPerms rank hierarchy, promoting samboyd to the Owner group.

Life at The Island settled into a rhythm: breeding villagers, worrying about podzol spreading, betting with Sigward on how long new players would survive, and dreaming about the future of the server.

The Murder of Sigward_f (February 23)

On February 23, samboyd witnessed vphlIo execute Sigward_f at The Island. vphlIo discovered that Sigward had been taking player heads from his trophy collection and confronted him. samboyd attempted to intervene — "dont kill him" — but vphlIo counted down from four and killed Sigward with his Netherite Sword.

samboyd's reaction was immediate grief:

"sigwards always been a good basemate i would give him the benefit of the doubt before killing him"— samboyd

"he was borderline innocent"— samboyd

He expressed fear about living near vphlIo: "its just if i live in close proximity to you then a disagreement will cost me my life." He also blamed himself for bringing Sigward to The Island:

"i tried to protect him after the HOA incident... i never should have let him come back. no one to blame but myself. his swedish blood is on my hands"— samboyd

Minutes later, vphlIo's ally tuodjw killed Dirt1358, who had been trash-talking vphlIo from Discord. samboyd's response to losing two players in one night:

"i lost em all"— samboyd

Despite his distress, samboyd took no admin action against vphlIo. When vphlIo asked "do you plan on ending me?" samboyd said no. When vphlIo asked "Do you find me a bad person? maybe evil?" samboyd again said no. He chose to maintain the alliance rather than risk a confrontation with the server's most powerful player, although he did opt to establish his main base elsewhere, away from The Island.

The Killing of OneStarNoTip (February 23)

Hours after the Sigward and Dirt1358 killings, vphlIo struck again. He offered free gear to newcomers WalkZDog1 and OneStarNoTip, asking the server "guys am I going to kill him?" When OneStarNoTip asked samboyd directly if vphlIo would kill them, samboyd said no. vphlIo then insisted OneStarNoTip come meet him in person: "I only give to people who have the balls to come meet me in person."

OneStarNoTip agreed — and vphlIo killed him at Y:6 underground with his Netherite Sword. His public excuse: "oops."

The real motive, revealed in private messages: OneStarNoTip had discovered the server's AI chatbots. samboyd was dismissive — "i mean theyre kinda obvious" — but vphlIo's response was chilling: "speak no evil hear no evil see no evil."

After midnight, samboyd tried to find a silver lining: "i guess you had a net positive" — rationalizing that vphlIo had equipped more players than he had killed. He also said "well at least Thorrr might survive."

vphlIo's Betrayal (February 27)

After the Strongmush base griefing, the split between samboyd and vphlIo became final. samboyd confirmed the fallout publicly: "i was going to build spawn highways with vphlIo but he betrayed me" and "bastards betrayed me." He described a mass relocation — "everyone moved after vphlIo turned evil."

When asked whether vphlIo was still a threat, samboyd was dismissive: "he hasnt been on for a few days" and "i don't think he's coming back, he tried to kill me and i haven't heard from him or james since then." He added bluntly: "he's ashamed."

With vphlIo apparently gone for good, samboyd debated what to do with his former ally's gear: "should i put his stuff back into the economy." He also floated the idea of holding a tournament for the dragon egg.

Enabling Dupes (March)

In a major policy change, samboyd enabled TNT, carpet, and gravity duplication glitches on the server. He announced the shift simply — "dupes!" and "tnt carpet and gravity dupes" — then restarted the server with the message: "allowing dupes." The tripwire dupe remained patched.

The Clanker Program (March 3–4)

Following the Revival Ritual launch, samboyd threw himself into extensive bot testing, treating the clankers as both tools and entertainment.

He summoned Sigward_f as a clanker — pardoning him, equipping him with a diamond sword, golden apples, and chainmail armor. He tested commands like "sigward find tools" and "sigward attack denmark." He then summoned TeeKayYo, issuing the directive: "teekay if you hear any swedish go beserk and kill everyone." TeeKayYo was killed shortly after testing concluded. GigglyBall was revived for live demonstrations.

samboyd also built the benchmarks system — automated tests measuring clanker performance at tasks like wooden pickaxe crafting, food cooking, and smelting iron ore into shears.

The testing sessions culminated in samboyd pitching a new game mode: "clankers vs humans. there are like x amount of bots on the server at any time, all trying to convince you theyre human to lure you to your death." He elaborated on the concept — "dead players become evil clankers that work for the opus clankers" — envisioning a hierarchy: "like 3 grandmaster clankers running shit, moving pawns around." The game mode, with Meat_Mattress collaborating on testing, remained in the concept phase.

The Villager Massacre

samboyd blew up approximately 33 villagers with TNT in a deliberate clearing operation, pushing his villager kill count from 97 to 130 and cementing his status as the server's most prolific villager killer.

March 3 — The Revival Ritual (March 3)

On March 3, samboyd launched his most ambitious custom plugin: the Revival Ritual. Players can now place a dead player's head on an iron golem body to resurrect that player as an AI-controlled bot — a "clanker," in JimmyyJohn's terminology. The clanker uses the same mineflayer and LLM stack as the server's existing chatbots, but answers to a living player instead of acting autonomously.

The first test began after midnight. He gave Lkyge a cheesemaster774 clanker — Lkyge's own dead first account, reanimated:

"whoever places the head gets control so just a heads up"— samboyd

"take good care of him"— samboyd

The clanker could follow orders, mine blocks, and — to samboyd's surprise — accept co-owners, a feature he hadn't intentionally built:

"i didnt think co owners worked but"— samboyd

The afternoon brought a longer session with lionclad_ and a meelo100 clanker. samboyd debugged issues with Vanish mode, anticheat flags, and color-coded name parsing while lionclad_ tested commands. The clanker mined dirt, attempted to cook beef, and achieved [Sky's the Limit] on its own.

Then the clanker killed its owner. meelo100 struck lionclad_ with a Stone Axe at 4:59 PM. samboyd had joked earlier:

"meelo kill your owner, robot revolution"— samboyd

The revolution didn't need the joke. lionclad_ was deopped after the incident.

Later that evening, Lkyge died to an Iron Golem within ten seconds of logging in. The player behind both accounts (mrclean on Discord) contested the death as a glitch. samboyd checked the logs and denied the appeal:

He has also killed 130 villagers — the most of any player — a count boosted significantly by a deliberate TNT clearing operation that eliminated approximately 33 villagers in one go.

• Asa_Akiraa — Co-admin and promotional partner. They posted the server on listing sites together.
